OurStory

Machete is a taqueria and tequila bar in Denver. Hand-pressed corn tortillas, house-made salsas, and a bar built around agave. That was the whole idea on day one, and it hasn't changed.

    Cherry Creek North

Machete at 3rd and Detroit opened its doors to the public on May 5, 2011, with a simple menu of tacos, margaritas, and tequila. More than 15 years later, we're proud to still call Cherry Creek North home.

We've watched the neighborhood evolve and grow around us, and Machete has grown along with it. Through all of that change, the support of our neighbors, regulars, and the Cherry Creek community has remained a huge part of who we are.

    Union Station

Machete Union Station opened its doors in 2014, bringing our tacos, margaritas, and tequila to Denver's historic Union Station neighborhood.

Since then, we've watched the area grow into one of the city's busiest destinations. We're grateful to be part of the Union Station community and to continue welcoming people through our doors more than a decade later.

Corn cultivation in the American Southwest goes back to the 1200s. We think about that every morning, standing over a hot comal.
